Vehicle strikes motorcycle in Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI--   One person was injured when a motorcycle was struck by a car in Marquette over the weekend.

City Police say the accident happened Sunday around 2:20 p.m. at the intersection of Genesee and Champion streets. Terry and Lorrie Ghiringhelli of Gwinn were driving eastbound on Genesee when they were hit by a vehicle driven by Betty Chudy of Marquette, who was turning onto Genesee from Champion Street.

Lorrie Ghiringhelli was taken to UPHS Marquette with non-life-threatening injuries.

Chudy was cited for failure to yield.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
