Vehicle rolls in Marquette Township crash

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Marquette Township Thursday. 

Sheriff's deputies responded just before 10 a.m. to US-41 West near Northwoods Road. They say Sarah Hoffman, 27, of Skandia was westbound in a van when a vehicle driven by David Lane, 62, pulled out of the Gordon Food Service driveway and into her path. 

The two vehicles collided. Hoffman's rolled over into the ditch on the northern side of the roadway. 

She was taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Lane was not injured in the crash.

Lane was cited for failure to yield the right of way. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
