Vanhaecke sentenced for B&E

HOUGHTON, MI--   A Houghton County man accused of breaking into a Duncan Township camp this summer and stealing items has been sentenced.  

CamielVanhaecke, 49, of South Range was charged with second-degree home invasion and possession of burglar’s tools.  He was given two to 22 years in prison. 

Vanhaecke is also a person of interest in the April disappearance of Leah Harding of South Range, his girlfriend at the time.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
