Vadnais sentenced for embezzlement

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Forsyth Township man has been sentenced for taking money from an adult placed in his guardianship.

Gary Vadnais, 49, of Gwinn pleaded guilty in September to embezzlement from a vulnerable adult, $1,000 or more but less than $20,000. He was a court-appointed guardian of the victim when he allegedly diverted money for his own use.

Vadnais was sentenced last week to 45 days in jail. He also paid restitution.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
