US-2 reconstruction in Ironwood starts Wednesday

IRONWOOD, MI--   Work on the US-2 business route from the highway to the Wisconsin state line begins in Ironwood Wednesday.

The Michigan Department of Transportation is milling and resurfacing 1.3 miles. It will also make drainage structure repairs; upgrade concrete sidewalk ramps to Americans with Disabilities Act standards; make concrete joint repairs; and resurface 0.3 miles of US-2 from the state line to west of Tourist Park Road in Ironwood.

Work will require lane shifts and closures under flag control.

The project is expected to be completed in late September.
