UPHSM CEO resigning

MARQUETTE, MI--   The head of U.P. Health System Marquette is leaving his job.

Ed Banos, who has served as CEO since 2013, is taking a position at University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

UPHSM Market President Jim Bogan will assume the leadership post on an interim basis beginning June 11.  The hospital is launching a national search for a permanent replacement.

“The leadership change will not impact progress with construction planning of our new hospital in Marquette or the expansion of several key medical services,” Bogan says.  “I am confident that this change will be seamless for our employees, physicians and the community.”

Bogan previously served as CEO of Portage Health—now U.P. Health System Portage in Hancock.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
