Two vehicles crash in Sagola Township

SAGOLA TOWNSHIP, MI--   Two people were injured in a traffic accident in Dickinson County 

Wednesday.

Troopers from the Iron Mountain Post say it happened around 4 p.m. near the intersection of M-95 and M-69 in Sagola Township.

A vehicle driven by Connie Cherubini, 64, of Sagola was southbound on M-95 when she attempted to turn east onto Leeman Road.  She turned into the path of a northbound vehicle driven by Cody Bednarz, 20, of Kingsford. 

Both drivers were taken to Dickinson County Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.  Both were wearing their seat belts and alcohol use is not suspected.

Troopers were assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department and the Sagola Township Fire Department.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
