Trucking agreement reached between Eagle Mine and Marquette officials

MARQUETTE, MI--   The City of Marquette and officials with the Eagle Mine have reached a tentative agreement for trucks going through the city from the mine to the Humboldt mill.

WLUC-TV reports city Transportation Sub-Committee member Sara Cambensy says the agreement for an interim solution was reached Wednesday.

Cambensy says the agreement will focus on maintenance of and improvements to the city trucking corridor, and will provide an ordinance for east-west and north-south trucking routes.

The City Commission will work with the mine on the plan’s details, which will be discussed at a work session and finalized at the commission’s April meeting.
