Truck hits old Savings Bank in Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Marquette Police Department is investigating another incident in which a vehicle struck a downtown building.  

According to Marquette Social Scene the accident happened Sunday at the corner of Front and Washington Streets.  Around 7:50 p.m. a white GMC 2500 pickup truck struck the corner of the old Savings Bank building.  No injuries are reported and the building appears not to have suffered much damage. 

Police are also investigating the Saturday crash of a vehicle into a vacant store at 122 N. Third Street.  The driver fled the scene but was later identified by authorities. 

The investigation into the Savings Bank accident continues.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
