Tri-DENT makes meth arrests in the Soo

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI--   Two people have been arrested in Sault Ste. Marie on meth-related charges. 

The Tri-County Drug Enforcement Team, or Tri-DENT, conducted surveillance Wednesday on a residence within the city, resulting in the arrest of Matthew Durden, 23, of Marquette and Brianna Hart, 18, of Sault Ste. Marie.

Durden is charged with:

  • Four counts of maintaining a meth lab
  • Maintaining a meth lab in a residential area
  • Maintaining a meth lab containing hazardous waste
  • Conspiracy to manufacture meth
  • Possession of Suboxone
  • Maintaining a drug house

Hart is charged with:

  • Conspiracy to maintain a meth lab
  • Conspiracy to maintain a meth lab containing hazardous waste
  • Conspiracy to maintain a meth lab in a residential area

Both Durden and Hart were arraigned Thursday in 91st District court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
