Tip leads to arrest of man wanted on CSC charge

MARQUETTE, MI--   A man wanted for criminal sexual conduct in Forsyth Township has been arrested.

Wednesday around 6:45 p.m. Township Police responded to the area of Phelps Apartments on a tip that Christopher Williams, 20, of Gwinn was in the area. He was wanted on a warrant authorized February 28 for 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Upon arrival officers noticed a vehicle in the parking lot. A man matching Williams’ description was sitting in the back seat. He was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the Marquette County Jail.

The Forsyth Township Police Department had placed a wanted poster for Williams on its Facebook page. Officers are thanking the public for its assistance in finding Williams.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
