TickPick going further in apology to Yoopers

MARQUETTE, MI--   New York-based ticket-buying site TickPick is making even more amends to the Yoopers it insulted this week.

The Upper Peninsula was left off an interactive map on the company’s website, and when people pointed out the omission they were told the U.P. was just a bunch of forests. When he learned about the Facebook debacle TickPick co-founder Brett Goldberg flew to Marquette and bought beer for everyone at the Blackrocks Brewery. Photos were snapped of him wearing a Stormy Kromer and eating a pasty.

Now TickPick is offering a Yooper Blooper Giveaway. Five people picked from all 5-star reviews the company receives through the month of June will win U.P.-based prizes, like a stay in Copper Harbor, a kayak tour of the Pictured Rocks, and free pasties.

The Facebook post says TickPick is thankful for recent 5-star reviews and Michigan’s 5-star hospitality.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
