Tech named one of nation's Best Colleges for Your Money

HOUGHTON, MI--   Money Magazine has named Michigan Technological University one of the Best Colleges for Your Money.  

The magazine evaluated 2,400 colleges and universities using 27 criteria and winnowed the list to 711 schools Money considers the best bang for your buck. Of those, tech ranked 91st among all institutions and 46th among public universities.

Michigan Tech also ranked sixth in the nation for early career salaries. Tech’s average early career salary for graduates is $63,400 dollars a year.

Money also noted that 47 percent of MTU’s low-income students have upper-middle class jobs by age 34—a factor known as “social mobility.”

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
