Tech called bike-friendly school (despite snow)

HOUGHTON, MI--   Michigan Technological University has been named a Bike-Friendly University by the League of American Bicyclists.

Tech first earned the designation in 2013. It’s one of 182 Bicycle Friendly Universities in 45 states and Washington, DC.

Bryant Weathers is with Tech’s Campus Bike Initiative. He says the designation is a huge accomplishment, as the school is buried in snow for 75 percent of the academic year.

The Bike-Friendly designation is good for four years.
