Tanker truck overturns on Iron County road

STAMBAUGH TOWNSHIP, MI--   The driver of a tanker truck was taken to the hospital, following a rollover crash in Stambaugh Township.

Troopers from the Iron Mountain Post responded Tuesday around 12:30 p.m. to County Road 424 near Seasonal Road.  They say the truck was eastbound around a curve when the driver lost control.  The truck went into the ditch and up an embankment, where it struck an unoccupied passenger vehicle parked for construction purposes.  The tanker then overturned in the roadway.

Troopers say the driver was able to get out of the vehicle unassisted, but was taken to Aspirus Hospital with unknown injuries.

Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the accident.
