Suspicious package found at Ramada Inn deemed harmless

Apr 25, 2013

The Ramada Inn in Marquette was briefly evacuated after a suspicious package was found in one of the guest rooms. Marquette Police responded to a call at the hotel at about 12:47 this afternoon when cleaning staff found the package in a room of a guest who had checked out. The guest had been terminated by his employer and was flying home when the package was discovered. After an investigation, police determined the package was left as a prank by fellow contractors who were also staying at the hotel. The hotel was cleared for precautionary reasons… and the package was deemed harmless. No malicious intent was uncovered during the investigation.
