Snyder to drink Flint water for a month

FLINT, MI (MPRN)--   Governor Rick Snyder says he plans to drink filtered Flint tap water for the next 30 days.

He says he is responding to critics who have complained he should be drinking the water like people who live in Flint.

“So I’m going to drink filtered Flint water from this wonderful home I visited. I’m going to start drinking that tonight and do that for the next 30 days, when I’m at work and at home,” he says.

Snyder says he filled up several gallon jugs at a home with a lead service line that has tested above the federal action level for lead in the past.

The governor is encouraging people in Flint to take part in a plan to flush their pipes beginning next month.
