Ski Hall of Fame to get new look

ISHPEMING, MI--   The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame has been awarded a grant to improve its grounds.

The $30,000 comes from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs.  It will be used to change the look of the landscaping, as two roundabouts will be constructed on either side of the building this coming spring.  The hall’s parking lots will be revamped, new signage will be placed, and a sculpture will be put in front of the building.

Hall of Fame President Tom West says they’ll need about $30,000 more to complete the project, which is expected to commence next summer.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
