Skandia accident injures man

SKANDIA TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Marquette-area man has been injured in a single-vehicle crash in Skandia Township.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says it happened Thursday around 6:30 p.m. on US-41 South near Dalton Road. A vehicle driven by the 54-year-old struck a snow bank on the western side of the roadway. The car exited the eastern side of the highway, went airborne, and landed in nearby woods.

The man was taken to UPHS-Marquette with unknown injuries. He remains in stable condition.

The accident remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
