Shots fired in Marquette Township domestic dispute

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Michigan State Police are investigating the firing of a gun in Marquette Township Tuesday night.

Troopers from the Negaunee Post were called around 8 p.m. to a residence on Morgan Meadows Road on a report of domestic violence. Initial information gathered during a 911 call indicated someone had been shot.

Troopers and deputies from the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office took the suspect into custody without incident.

Further investigation revealed two so-called “warning shots” were fired during the dispute, but no one was injured.

The suspect remains lodged at the Marquette County Jail pending review of the case by the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office.
