Sentencing date set for Sadowski and Cope

MARQUETTE, MI--   Two Ishpeming men found guilty this week of kidnapping and torturing two women will learn next month how much time they’ll spend in prison.  

Marquette County Circuit Court has set April 21 as the date Jason Sadowski, 44, and Charles Cope, 66, will be sentenced. 

Both men were found guilty Tuesday of two counts of torture and counts of unlawful imprisonment.  Sadowski was also convicted of solicitation of murder and two counts of assault with  intent to do bodily harm less than murder. 

They face up to life in prison. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
