Senate candidate says homeless should be armed

ANN ARBOR, MI (MPRN)--   A man running for U.S. Senate is raising money to buy shotguns for homeless people.

Libertarian Brian Ellison says shocking people seems the only way a third party candidate can get media coverage.

But he truly believes the homeless deserve guns, and he has no fears they will misuse them.

“I wouldn't expect that the homeless would use their weapons to fight off the police who are asking them to leave; I think the homeless would use their weapons to protect themselves from being victims of violent crimes,” he says.

Ellison is running against incumbent U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, a Democrat.

Three men are vying for the Republican nomination.
