Second person arrested from Ishpeming cocaine bust

MARQUETTE, MI--   Another suspect has been arrested in a cocaine case out of Ishpeming. 

On September 25 the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at a residence at Sunny Side Estates. Detectives seized nearly 30 grams of cocaine, a firearm, and evidence of drug distribution. They arrested Nakeesha Briggs, 34, and removed four children that were living in the home.

On Friday UPSET and Marquette Police arrested a 33-year-old man from Ishpeming Township for possession of cocaine, four counts of child endangerment, a weapons violation, and maintaining a drug house. The man was arrested in Marquette at an undisclosed location. His name has not been released, pending arraignment.

The case remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
