Sale of timber in WI vibrant

landbin.com

MADISON, WI (AP)--   The state Department of Natural Resources says Wisconsin saw record timber sales from state lands during the last fiscal year.

DNR Chief Forester Paul DeLong says timber sales totaled $11.71 million during the year that ended June 30. That's up from $10.8 million during fiscal year 2013.

The sales were generated form state forests, fish and wildlife properties, state parks and other properties. The money goes to support DNR operations.

DeLong says that state forests continue to grow despite the record sales, adding a net 11 million cubic feet of saw timber each year.
