MARQUETTE, MI-- The findings of a recreational study between three Marquette-area communities will be released to the public at an open house Monday evening.
Conducted by the Land Information Access Association, the study examined how the City of Marquette, Marquette Charter Township, and Chocolay Township could better work together to provide community-wide recreation. An ad-hoc committee comprising representatives from each municipality placed a special focus on the Heartwood Forestland property and future trail development.
Monday night’s presentation includes 24 findings and ten conclusions regarding recreation collaboration. Public input will help finalize the study.
The open house takes place at 6 p.m. in the Lakeview Arena Citizen’s Forum.
