Residents flee burning Ishpeming building

ISHPEMING, MI--   Fire has damaged an Ishpeming apartment building.

Firefighters were called Wednesday to West Johnson Street around 1:30 p.m.  A candle in the downstairs apartment had apparently tipped over, starting the fire.

Four people in the building—including one in a wheelchair—were able to escape.  No injuries were reported.

Officials say the building sustained some smoke and fire damage.
