upmatters.com

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Republican has announced his candidacy for the Michigan House of Representatives 109th District.

Marquette Area Public Schools Board President Rich Rossway says he wants to put an end to partisan politics and the “us-vs-them” mentality. In a press release Rossway said he wants to focus on adequate funding for U.P. schools and seamless access to health care for veterans.

Rossway is the fifth person to announce a run for the seat left open when John Kivela passed away in May.

The primary election is set for August 8 and the general election November 7.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
