MARQUETTE, MI-- Communities in four Upper Peninsula counties are among 22 around the state to receive a Recreation Passport grant through the Department of Natural Resources.
The money is used to help complete outdoor recreation facility renovations and improvements.
Among the projects awarded, Delta County’s Nahma Township has received more than $52,000 to develop a trailhead for several user groups; the City of Iron Mountain is getting $58,000 to renovate tennis courts at the recreation complex; and the City of Menominee has been given more than $46,000 to upgrade electrical service at River Park Campground.
