MACKINAC ISLAND, MI (AP)-- Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul is scheduled to speak next month at a Republican gathering in Michigan.
He's the sixth presidential candidate announced as a speaker at the 31st Biennial Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference. The Sept. 18-20 event will occur six months before Michigan's presidential primary.
Paul attended the conference in 2013.
Other speakers on Mackinac Island will include Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina.
Michigan Republican Party Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel said in a statement Tuesday that the organization is "excited to host so many Republicans in one place" and allow "them all to share their ideas regarding issues facing Michigan."
