Rajala to be sentenced in November

ISHPEMING, MI--   A sentencing date has been set for an Ishpeming man accused of assaulting his girlfriend in her home and initiating a 15-hour standoff with police. 

Robert Rajala, 33, was charged with first-degree home invasion in connection with the April 14th incident.  The victim was able to get out of the house with her child before the standoff occurred. 

Rajala will be sentenced on a charge of aggravated assault-domestic violence November 5 in Ishpeming District Court. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
