Public input needed on food truck ordinance

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Marquette Downtown Development Authority is holding hearings on a new food truck ordinance.

The Marquette City Commission ordered the city manager to work with the DDA to develop an ordinance that would regulate food trucks in a way that’s acceptable to both them and “brick and mortar” buildings.

Wheeled restaurants around the area include Dia de los Tacos, Señors Food Truck, and Rollin’ Smoke.

The DDA is looking for public comment on the issue.  It’s holding two public input sessions Tuesday, the first at 8 a.m. and the second at  6 p.m., both at the Marquette Commons.

For more information call the DDA at 228-9475.
