Prelim set for Wisconsin man accused of murder

MARINETTE, WI--   A preliminary hearing is set for a Peshtigo, Wisconsin man accused of killing his girlfriend last month.  

Brent Kaempf, 48, is charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of Trish Waschbisch, 45, at their home April 28. 

Kaempf was taken into custody and held at the Milwaukee County Jail, then transferred to the Marinette County Jail.  His preliminary exam is scheduled for June 27.

Waschbisch was the interim director of Rainbow House—a domestic violence shelter in Marinette. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
