Power back on in Wakefield

WAKEFIELD, MI--   Residents of Wakefield had to deal with a power outage over the weekend.

Electricity went out Friday night and wasn’t restored until Saturday night.  Officials say they aren’t sure what caused a cut in power to city residents and customers of Xcel Energy.

City hall was opened as a warming shelter to a public without heat.

Anyone in Wakefield who is still having problems with their power should call the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office at 667-0203.  Outside the city, call Xcel at 800-895-1999.
