Police investigate packages of meth sent to Bessemer pub

BESSEMER, MI--   A Bessemer man has been arrested on drug charges, following an investigation by the Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team into an area business. 

Thursday a search warrant was executed at the Black River Valley Pub in Bessemer. Officers from GIANT received information regarding a suspicious package addressed to the pub. It was found to contain methamphetamine. As the investigation continued another suspicious package containing meth was discovered. The search warrant uncovered money and two ounces of crystal meth with a street value of $10,000.

A 43-year old Bessemer man was arrested and charged with conspiracy to deliver meth and possession with intent to deliver meth. He remains lodged in the Gogebic County Jail on a $200,000 bond.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
