Police discover methamphetamine lab in Houghton County

CHASSELL TOWNSHIP, MI--   A meth lab has been uncovered in Chassell Township. 

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office discovered the lab Sunday around 4:15 p.m. in a vacant trailer home.  Deputies say evidence gathered during a search indicated a small-scale meth operation was in place. 

One male suspect was arrested at the scene.  His name is being withheld, pending arraignment. 

The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team, UPSET’s meth lab response team, and the Chassell Fire Department assisted at the scene.   

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
