HOARD, WI (AP)-- A plane crash in central Wisconsin has killed one person and injured two others.
Clark County Sheriff Greg Herrick says the victim was a passenger in a Cessna 182 flying from Menominee, Michigan to Litchfield, Minnesota that was trying to make an emergency landing on a road in the town of Hoard around 9:15 Monday morning. News-Herald Media reports two other people in the plane suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The sheriff says the pilot reported the wings started to ice up at about 8,000 feet, so he started circling while looking for a road to try an emergency landing. As the plane touched down, Herrick says, the wing clipped tree branches, causing the plane to crash into the ditch.
