PAAC revamps itself

NEGAUNEE, MI--   The Peninsula Arts Appreciation Council has a new focus—saving the historic Vista Theater in Negaunee.

The newly elected Board of Directors is making changes with an eye toward saving the 92-year-old building—and by extension, the organization itself. The makeup of the board includes people with skills in organization, construction, communications, marketing, grant writing, and finance, along with theater production and operation.

PAAC officials say their major goal this year is to raise around $40,000 to repair the roof above the stage. They say the plumbing also needs to be fixed.

The Board says it’s looking forward to working with members, sponsors, and volunteers as they bring the Vista back to its previous glory.
