Osceola Township accident involves parked tractors

OSCEOLA TOWNSHIP, MI--   Injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident in Houghton County Thursday.

The Sheriff’s Office says it happened around 2:15 p.m. on M-26 near Airport Park Road in Osceola Township. A 58-year-old Macomb man southbound on Airport Park Road was unable to stop at a stop sign. He was struck by a westbound vehicle driven by a 28-year-old Houghton woman. Both vehicles then struck parked tractors in Wards Outdoor Equipment and Repair parking lot.

Both drivers were injured. They were taken to UPHS Portage Hospital by friends and family.

The accident remains under investigation. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
