Officials need help from public to create timeline for Timothy Mitchell

NEGAUNEE, MI--   State Police want to hear from people who may have had contact with a man who was killed in a police shootout in Alger County earlier this month.

Troopers from the Negaunee Post are working on a timeline of events surrounding the July 14 incident, which led Munising Police on a chase from Christmas down Forest Highway 13.  Timothy Mitchell, 47, crashed his car, then suffered fatal injuries when police shot him.

Detectives are seeking information from anyone who had contact with Mitchell earlier that day.  If so, they are urged to call State Police at 475-9922.
