Officers receiving chatroom predator complaints

CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIIP, MI--   Chocolay Township Police are warning area residents—especially teenaged girls—to use caution when chatting online.

Officers say there’s been an increase in online sexual predator-type complaints from subjects using chat sites like KiK, ASK.fm, and even Facebook.

Officers say chat site users should not respond to requests from unknown individuals.  Nor should they link their user names to their personal Facebook or Myspace accounts, where a predator could learn more about them.
