No injuries in Marquette Township three-vehicle crash

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Three vehicles were involved in an accident in Marquette Township Thursday.

Sheriff’s deputies responded around 11 p.m. to US-41 at the intersection of County Road HQ.  They say a Volkswagen Beetle driven by Amelia Sackmann, 22, of Marquette tried to make a left turn onto County Red HQ at a flashing red light when she turned into the path of a Nissan driven by Nicole Koski, 33, of Negaunee.  The crash forced both vehicles into a Ford driven by Ryan Boury, 27, of Port Huron, that was stopped at the light.

No injuries are reported.

Sackmann was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
