Marquette Mining Journal

MARQUETTE, MI--   Northern Michigan University is once again lowering its flags to honor the death of a student.

Steven Pozega, 21, passed away on Sunday. He attended high school in Marquette and Ironwood and was pursuing a degree in computer science at NMU. Pozega was an avid skateboarder and snowboarder.

The NMU flag is lowered to half-staff and campus messages are sent after the passing of current students, faculty, and staff and after consultation with immediate family.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
