NMU starts to dismantle Carey Hall

MARQUETTE, MI--   The process of demolishing a building on the campus of Northern Michigan University has begun.

Carey Hall will be razed over the next six weeks.  Site preparation started Monday, and workers will perform some exterior work this week to detach the building from Lee Hall.  They’ll move to interior demolition in weeks two and three, then start tearing down Carey Hall in the fourth and fifth weeks.

All work is scheduled to be done by August 3.
