NMU gets high rating on insurance and risk management degree

MARQUETTE, MI--   Northern Michigan University ranks 13th in the country for the best bachelor’s degree program in insurance and risk management.

That’s according to Online Accounting Degree Programs. The ranking was based on NMU’s previous finance major with a concentration in risk management. The College of Business is launching a new insurance and risk management-specific major this fall.

The ranking was created using the National Center for Education Statistics’ College Navigator database and the International Risk Management Institute's Directory. A list of eligible colleges was compiled and then ranked on the following key metrics: dedicated department, specializations, productivity, Gamma Iota Sigma fraternity, actuarial excellence, and advanced program options.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
