NMU friendly to veterans, group says

MARQUETTE, MI--   Northern Michigan University has been named a 2015 Military Friendly School by Victory Media.

The designation is for the top 15 percent of colleges, universities, and trade schools across the U.S. that do the most in dedicating resources to ensure military students’ success in and outside the classroom.

Victory Media recognizes NMU’s in-state tuition for all eligible U.S. military veterans; its membership in the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges consortium; its ROTC program; and an on-site advisor who assists veterans with career placement.

It’s the sixth consecutive time Northern has appeared on the list.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
