NMU coach helping to cover Olympics

nmuwildcats.com

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Northern Michigan University diving coach has returned to his native Brazil to assist in Olympic coverage.

Milton Braga is familiar with the Olympics.  He was the first Brazilian diver to compete in two Summer Games:  1975 in Montreal and 1980 in Moscow. He now coaches aspiring divers in Marquette.

Braga left for Brazil July 27.  He’s providing color commentary for diving events for a television sports network. According to an NMU press release he says he’d love to sneak a 10-meter platform dive when no one is using the pool.  Braga may also volunteer for other duties during a rare opportunity to be a part of the Olympics in his home country.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
