MARQUETTE, MI--   Eagle Mine has announced an interim general manager for the mine on Marquette County’s Yellow Dog Plains.

Peter Richardson’s position became effective Monday.  He holds a master’s degree in metallurgical engineering and spent more than 20 years with Swedish-based mining company Boliden before coming to Lundin Mining.  Richardson was most recently the director for strategy and business development for all Boliden mines.

Eagle is the nation’s only primary nickel mine.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
