Negaunee festival not being held in January

NEGAUNEE, MI--   Heikki Lunta will not have his own celebration in Negaunee this winter.

The Negaunee Irontown Association announced Monday it didn’t have enough funding to hold the 2015 Heikki Lunta Festival.  Originally scheduled for January 17, the event would have marked the festival’s 20th anniversary.

The Irontown board says it will instead focus on the ever-popular Pioneer Days, its scholarship fund, and next year’s tree lighting.
