Naubinway museum becoming more popular

NAUBINWAY, MI (AP)--   An Upper Michigan snowmobile museum is seeing dividends in attendance as it begins its second year at a new location in Naubinway.

The Evening News of Sault Ste. Marie reports that the Top of the Lake Snowmobile Museum has more than 80 brands of snowmobiles and 140 different displays. The museum's oldest machine is a 1936 Westendorf built by a Bay City man to fit in the back of his Model T truck for ice fishing.

Museum officials say that the move to a site just off of US Highway 2 was made in October 2013. It increased traffic both from the highway in summer and from a nearby snowmobile trail in the winter.

The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
