Name of missing Wallace angler released

By Nicole Walton

Wallace, MI – Police have released the name of a man who went missing on the Menominee River last Thursday.

WLUC TV says Mark Geib, 48, of Wallace was apparently fishing from a bank on River Drive that night when he fell in after trying to retrieve a fish on his line.

Divers from the Michigan State Police and Marinette County, Wisconsin searched for Geib Friday morning through Sunday, but were unable to locate his body.

Officials are asking residents to keep an eye on the river, and the Menominee Marine Patrol says it will scan the area daily.
